But photography, in Rivalto, also becomes an expression of cultural aggregation thanks to the enthusiasm of some local amateur photographers who, over the years, have made possible the confluence of a personal passion with an initiative to enhance the village.
From the first photography exhibitions focusing on typically rural subjects of Rivalto during the '900, the path is progressed by creating opportunities for synergy with associations of amateur photographers in the surrounding areas, to enable Rivalto to welcome also some international exhibitions.
Since 2002, with the sponsorship of Town of Chianni and UIF (Unione Italiana Fotoamatori - Italian Union Photo-amateurs), Rivalto is home of the exhibition event organized by the Photographic Association of Fornacette concurrently at the appointments of the Chestnut Festival or of the Prize of Poetry.
Since 2008 is presented in Rivalto, in the premises of La Canonica in Piazza della Compagnia, the photographic exhibition "Color of Europe", an international exhibition on tour among Calcinaia and other locations in France, Spain and Germany twinned with Calcinaia attended by photographers of various nations.
