The working Rivalto

Rivalto, until the 50's and 60's, was almost a self-sufficient community that benefited from the wealth of agricultural and forestal lands. The inhabitants were mostly devoted to work in the fields and to care of livestock. Cellars, oil mills and slaughterhouse were always working and attracting visitors of the neighboring areas. Even the arts and crafts of the past here have found skilled interpreters. Shops and itinerant sellers ensured the supply of essential goods and it was not lacking the mind set of the art of getting to meet the remaining needs. The following sections give an overview of the production activity of Rivalto during the '900 with references and anecdotes collected by the testimonies of "rivaltini than once".
